Easter Bunny

Dave's work had an Easter Bunny Picnic on Monday during lunch. Darren thought it was strange that all these chocolate eggs were all over the playground and started picking them up. When his hands were too full he looked up at Dave and asked him to hold the ones he had so he could get some more. We lined his pockets with them. After enjoying lunch Darren got to meet the Easter Bunny for real and he got some chocolate bunnies. He came running up to me and said, "The Easter Bunny is a rabbit mommy!" He handed over the chocolate bunnies and proceeded to run over and get some more for himself. Just what he needs is chocolate to keep him up at night. We'll have to ration his stash and possibly eat it ourselves to get rid of it.

32nd week

I had my ultrasound at women's hospital a while back. They say my placenta is 1 cm off the opening to my cervix which they don't like so they have arranged for me to have another ultrasound next month. If the 1 cm becomes 2 or more cms then they will be happier. If the placenta is blocking the opening then I will have to have a c-section. All I know is that I get to see the baby again which is awesome. It will be bigger and much larger on the screen and hopefully we can find out the sex then. I'm not holding my breath but it would be nice to know. I have 8 weeks to go and they say my baby is 4 and a half pounds now so I should be giving birth to an eight pounder by then.

My friend Karen is due tomorrow and I took this picture of us.

Dentist

Darren went to his first dentist appointment last Saturday. The dentist was impressed with his good brushing skills. He got to pick his surprise on the way out and a new toothbrush.

His favourite part was the playroom they have for the kids.

Returns

I bought this safety door handle for my front door because Darren can now unlock it and turn the lever handle. It's not a round door handle but a lever handle you'd see on a french door so it requires a special lock. My first complaint in buying anything now is that they package these items in sealed plastic that is so hard to get into that you have to use scissors to get in and pray you don't get cut on the sharp edges. Dave was kind enough to cut it open for me and proceeded to install it. Inside the package the instructions say it's for an inside door only. On the package it does not state inside or outside. So I wrapped up all the pieces and put it all in a ziploc bag and with reciept in hand I took it back to Toys R Us at Lansdowne Mall.

After talking to the sales clerk I suggested she get the manager for me. They told me I couldn't return it because it had been opened and they couldn't sell it in the condition it was in. The manager actually told me I shouldn't have opened it. I blinked for a second. How was I supposed to know it was for an inside door when it doesn't state that on the package. I told them I was not happy with their statements and that I might as well throw the thing in the garbage. I also said I'd never shop at Toys R Us again. I was mad and walked away.

Simone was with me that day and thought that was ridiculous and told me she'd get my money back. She gave the manager hell for stressing out a poor pregnant girl who wasn't going to argue due to her condition. She also related how the package was misleading and demanded they do something about it. I got my money back.

It was a 5 dollar item. How's that for customer service? Now they've lost my business over a small amount because I don't want to go through that again. I also found out that Simone went through something similar. She recieved a gift that someone put together for her after Emily was born. It was a baby swing. After a week it stopped working so she took the gift reciept and the swing back. They refused to take it back because it wasn't in the box she brought with her. They actually stood there and watched her take it apart in the store and place it back in the box. Emily was strapped to Simone in a sling while she did this. How's that for customer service? Disgusting and cruel if you ask me.

I am never going back to that store again. I'm spreading the word around so beware of Toys R Us.
