We haven't used it with water yet but when it gets hotter we'll wet the bottom for him to play with. We use his home-made tent for shade and it fits over most of the pool which he really likes. He loves bouncing the ball and running after it.

His new games now are peek-a-boo and tag. He chases me on the grass and giggles and laughs constantly.

I brought out his old chair which I used for him to sleep in when he was first born. He is starting to enjoy sitting in it and reading his books. Reading is his other favourite thing to do and boy is he going through the books rapidly. He's already bored with the ones he has.

Oh ya and that's Emily in the playpen behind him!

We had a great time in Vernon. Lots of time to shop and basically do absolutely nothing. It was fantastic! Darren found the dock very interesting and he enjoyed making lots of mess in the living room. He barely missed the sharp corner of the fireplace and gave me a heart attack watching it all unfold. The porch was a off limit place until we can find some way of keeping him away from the railings. They are too far spaced and he'd just walk right through them.

Grampa and Darren went on grampa's ride-em lawnmower for a little ring around mommy while I snapped off some shots. At first he didn't quite know what he was on and what for but after the twentieth pass around me he started holding the steering wheel and smiling a little.

He especially liked it when I rocked the floating dock so he could feel it move. He loved the end of the dock and looking into the water which kinda freaked out my mother a little.

We also caught that freaking traffic problem just south of Merritt on the Coquihalla going home. We went 12 km in two and a half hours. Darren was not impressed and we got locked in traffic just before his nap time. Since he needed the car to be moving to fall asleep he was awake the whole 12 km and he was miserable for the rest of the trip. We left Vernon at 11 am and had lunch in Merritt. We arrived home at 8:30 pm. We were not impressed. What's worse was it was a holiday and the construction (which was the problem) people weren't even there. They just permanently blocked one lane of the highway until they are finished with it. Oh ya and it's both ways one lane traffic. They get you coming and going all at the same place. Nice eh?
