"Errrmmm, not sure if I've misunderstood you, but why did you buy an Attack kit (RK003?) if you needed one for a Carbon frame bike (RK008)?

link to a company in the States that sometimes does RK008 kits, but they don't have any at the mo'..........

or you can use a RK001 kit which is the same for the main pivots, but just includes the rear stay pivots for the "9 style" x57 style frame, which you won't need on "two tube" or carbon frame bikes.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/K2-NOLEEN-RK001-Pro-Flex-9-Style-Frame-Rebuild-Kit-NEW-/330764708794

Oh, and I have just one RK008 left for sale from the bulk order that I imported into the UK if anyone wants to buy it, £15 +P&P."

I totally stand corrected Colin.  i just checked and It was the RK001 kit (not attack frame as I noted earlier) that I bought because I couldn't find the right RK008 kit anywhere.  Thanks for clarifying my goof.  What would the price be for economy shipping for your last Rk008 kit?

Hi Brycer,
If you have an RK001 kit then you have the correct main pivot Bearings for a carbon frame bike or "two-tube" bike.
I have checked the "Bearing, Flanged (Main Pivot)" part# 15710 from RK008 and part# 15061 from RK001 and they appear to be the same.
So I don't understand what the differences you describe can be.

To be honest, I'm keeping the last of my kits for European Pro~Flex'ers as we do struggle to get them from the states, sorry if I sounded like I was offering it to you.

I'm confident that you have the right parts and if you really want an RK008, then they do seem to crop up fairly regulalry on eBay USA.

Proflex 5000 For Sale
« Reply #1308 on: August 14, 2012, 12:45:33 pm »
Hi All,

Greetings from potatoland.

An interesting thing happened last week at the Tour de Fat (a fine family time) here in Boise ID while I was riding the screaming yellow 5000.

Bumped into a young lad who said there was interest/demand in Proflex bikes.  He was full of Fat Tire beer and enthusiastic - so was I.   Searched and here I am with questions.

Have a 98 Proflex 5000 - carbon forks and swing arm in a Way Big size.  All stock XT and XTR with some new old stock parts excepting the tubes and tires.   It's in good/very good condition.  I have had other bikes and this one has not been ridden hard.

Is there a market/ demand and if so what might be an appropriate price?  Nobody here knows a thing about this bike.  What is the preferred venue for a sale?  Craigslist?

I'm not a collector/gear head and thought it might be good to get it in the hands of someone who might appreciate it before I break something.

Can provide pics - is there a way to upload?

Thanks!

JT

Hi and Boise ID Greetings.

Its 4 years later.  Bike above is now for sale - its been mothballed except for a few rides per year.  All origional - even have the saddle (very lightly used).  This pic is bad - bike covered in moon dust.

Full disclosure - smart shocks are hit or miss - have had lights recently but none yesterday.  Also - laced up a new rear wheel last year.

$550 plus shipping - offered here first per Dougs advice.  Please email for pics - my file is too big.

THANKS!  JT

anyone interested in a pair of NON DISC Cane Creek WAM Team Blue wheels off a 01 razorback sl, Ti spokes, k2 skewers, like new 9 speed Shimano cassette...  I'm thinking like $275 with the cassette being as this is a rare item of great esthetic and utilitarian quality, but I may take offers under advisement.

Hi all, I have a Red Proflex 857, recently tuned at my LBS (Service Course Velo in Medford, Oregon) that I'm looking to sell.  What's the best way?  Full bike, frame and fork, some other configuration?  I've had it since 98 and replaced/upgraded parts as needed throughout the years, e.g. it has a Risse Racing rear shock that replaced the Noleen when it exploded on me.  Let me know if more info is needed.

Thanks,

Mick

Please read entire ad before calling or texting with questions. If this ad is up, then I still have the bike. Text messages get fastest reply, then emails and lastly phone calls.

K2 Proflex 450 full suspension mountain bike. Super light. Large frame size. Almost bone stock except seat and handlebar upgrades. A+ condition. Hardly a scratch on it. Stored since 2003! Shocks are 100%. Gears and brakes work perfect. Noleen front shock, Shimano components, hell-bent handlebars. Just put brand new tires and brake pads on it and had it professionally tuned up. A great bike for all types of riding. Fantastic condition. Asking $400. In Arizona but willing to ship for the right buyer (IN U.S.) Text or call Derek at (480) 628-8232

There's a guy called Gill i think on retro bike forum that can print some for you if you can supply a quality template for him. I tried but couldn't find a good enough image for him. If someone could upload a scaled image of the 550 decals we could send it on to Gill? I want a set as well if you succeed in finding any else where so let us know. I like the green Wild Gripper style tires!

Just reduced the price - doen't appear to be a driving demand.  Have the smart shocks working.  Don't want to break up - I'll let you guys do that.

Can anyone help uploading pics?  Can't do it.  Thanks!  JT - h2o_snow@hotmail.com
