Hi Guys....

I'm enjoying the 856 I rebuilt and I've been using it as often as I can.
I've found that having fixed / replaced most of the bits I needed to get it just right it's riding really well.....but I'm having fun with the rear shock.

Has anyone got an ODS unit to sell ?
With or without elastomers or springs....alternatively another more modern shock option at reasonable money ?
Top end new Risse shock is just a little bit outside of my budget.....
I kick myself each time I see the Stratos shock in the previous post above....thinking about it that would have been perfect !

I'm in the UK, so I need to keep the shipping cost in mind.....anyone have anything to replace the non damped standard set up i have right now ?

Even a Fox or similar with the adapter bushes would be cool..

Hey guys. Selling my 1998 k2 proflex 4000. Medium frame. Completely stripped, paint and all and powdercoated white. New k2 decals and freshly greased and tuned up when rebuilt. Bike is complete except for grips, seat and pedals (have a set of crank bros egg beaters if u want em). Also have some extras. Complete extra front shock assembly, spare bushings and some spare headset parts and bearings (extras from other builds). I have a bunch of pics of disassembly, powdercoat and reassembly so msg me ur phone # or email and I will send pics if ur interested. Taking offers if ur curious abt price. Thanks

Hi CRXSTASY, Not interested myself, but I'm not familar with where you live, so maybe let people know which country you're in and maybe an indication of Postage costs?

I emailed him and it is a 957 with carbon swingarm and elite aluminum fork. Nice bike but not for 600.

Hello folks,
After six years off the bike, following an awful knee injury, I think I might be able to ride a little again. The trouble is all of the pro Flex equipment I have had in the past has been sold! A used to have an 856, 857 and a beast. I sold them all when I thought I could never ride again.
I'm looking for a similar sort of bike again, 856 or 857 type frame - I don't really mind what model number. Coil is preferable over elastomer, but I love to tinker, so it doesn't matter so much.

I'm in Kent in the UK, oooh... Size, I used to have large, I'm 5’11“
What's the market like for proflexes these days? I regret selling my stuff so much, but here's hoping someone has something suitable?

I'm thinking about selling my Brand New, Never Used, 856 World Cup and I need some help. This bike has never seen the pavement or dirt. It is 90% original. The original tires still have the nubbers on them. The only thing I swapped out were the Gripshifters and bar-ends and replaced them with XTR shifter/brake combos. The bike has a mix of XTR and XT. Gore Cables, all original parts. Top of the line bike. I think I have a number in mind of what I would like to get for this one of a kind bike, but I wanted to check in with the experts here and see what they think. The bike has a few small surface scratches from being in storage for all these years. This bike has always been stored in my house, never outside in a shed or garage. Oh yea, it has an integrated Shimano Flight Deck Computer also.

When I first posted a 'feeler', the thought was I could expect $500 for this............Not that I'm looking to make a fortune on this, but I thought that seemed awefully low. Seems I could part it out and almost make that. I figured, how many brand new Proflex bikes are out there?

What do you think would be a fair asking price locally here in Massachusetts, USA on CL or a fair starting bid on Fleabay?

It's impossible to put a price on something as things are only worth what someone will pay for it. That price sounds good to me as although its not been used, its 'only' a 856. Don't take this the wrong way but they're not rare and they're not the top of the range model ie 956. Good luck anyway

I have a medium size Animal frame in very good condition sitting in my garage. I also live in Kent (Thanet). I am still running my original 757 on the local trails and still get admiring comments about it. I also have a spare swingarm from the 757 that I was keeping as a spare. Whereabouts in Kent are you?

Main limiting factor on value here is that what you have is a "Small", that doesn't really suit most adults and uses an even more unique shock than the rest of the x56/57 range.......................Stick it on the 'bay with a reserve that reflects what you wouldn't part with it for, (sorry stating the bleedin' obvious there! <GRIN>)

Only I have seen some beautiful examples of Proflex bikes for sale on the U.S. Craigslist and was wondering if it was worth taking a risk on one. Would there be import duty to pay etc

I've done it for forks and spares.
Yes, you'd pay VAT (20%) plus a collection handling fee by the carrier and you could be liable for customs duty as well.
I'd recommend phoning UK Customs and Excise who I have found to be very helpful and put an example purchase to them and they'll tell you what you'd be liable for.
