Anyone interested in buying a complete ProFlex XP6 (856)? I think I'm going to have to sell it, so thought I'd post here before listing on Ebay. It's in fully rideable condition - I've had amazing fun with it - but I've just bought something newer that will be easier to maintain, and unfortunately I don't really have the space to keep both.

I bought it from a friend 2 years ago after it had sat in his spare room unused for a few years... the elastomers were rock solid so I replaced them with a spring at the rear, and an ODS damper & spring at the front (still have the old elastomer-compatible damper if anyone wanted to revert to it). It's had new SRAM cables all round this spring, plus new Michelin tyres. There are a few knocks to the paintwork but overall it's in pretty good condition - the most notable damage is a small dent in the top tube (you can see it just above the "X" in the 3rd photo below). Frame size is 18".

Mine is kind of buried in my shop, so it was awkward to reach and measure, but the Way Big measured about 21 - 22 inches from center-crank to top-tube.

Cool. I used to go help my son's neighbor tune up masses of bikes to stuff into shipping containers for launching off to Africa. It was a matter of get as many as possible to function and send the rest as spare parts.

FYI, that's a Small, not a Medium (can tell by the upper shock mount frame shape)
Actually it's a 4000RS I believe?
Nice bike and if it was in the UK, I'd be V. intrested for the missus, (The 900 that I have just sounds soooooo Lo-End! <GRIN>)

If anyone fancys a 956 there is a really nice one on German EBay. If say its possibly one of the rarest 9's. You see plenty of 957's and quite a few 955's but it's only the second 956 I've see and one of those was a picture on here.

It has the same prototype carbon rear swingarm as on my 956LE, but without the smoothed welds. Did all 956s have that same swingarm?

Yes as far I know the 956 was the first to use this frame whilst the 856 still used the World Cup design. The carbon vector legs are pretty special. The '96 Proflex brochure shows it well. Obviously in '97 the frame became mainstream with the 757, 857 and 957 with a change to Crosslinks.
