Hello!

i am looking for a replacement noleen rear shock for my 957/857.

i am also in need off the small fixture which connects to the upper fork which the noleen shock screws into.

an issue with the threading of the shock into this fixture caused a total failure of the noleen shock

i'm not really interested in investing the 200$ for a new risse shock - but any other reasonably replacements would be considered!

is there a way to make the nr4 style noleen shock (shown above in "racesrc's" post) fit/work with a 957/857? or will i need the exact noleen that was used in my frame prior?

please pm me!

- look at the exploded diagram for your fork or frame and list the part you are after and this question will then be clearer to us

- a) No it will not fit the x57 frame, b) you need one with a split collet taper and end bolt

Hey Colin,

thanks for the clarification.

my bike is an 856 - what i need is an nr1 / nr2 rear shock with the cone shaped end... i have the split collet taper piece that feeds into the cone shaped strut.

either that, or a cone to eye adapter

please PM or email me ( adam@blackwhitegreyandbrwon.com ) with any available cone-ended shocks!

additionally - i have an extra rear strut and control arm off of an 856 for sale or trade if anyone is looking...

I'm looking for a set of the black rubber buttons that later Crosslink's used to prevent the top linkage bolts from denting the frame's top tube. Anyone have a set they don't mind parting with?

Are you sure they are rubber? I thought they were plastic.

Well, I thought they would be made of some soft material...doesn't really make sense to have a hard object covering another hard object :-/

Ive got them on my 857. They are a moulded item which looks like plastic. There is a little bit of give in it but its not a soft rubber buffer, more of a hard rubber/soft plastic type of material.

How about some wiring grommets for time being?

I'm gonna hit the local Home Depot to see if they have anything softer...if I find something I'll pick up a bunch and send a pair to whomever wants some. Cuz, you know, it's time for you all to collectively "get a pair", hehehe :-) Seriously, though, the clear hockey tape wrapped around the 956LE's top tube isn't doing anything for its looks.

Awesome! Is that a girder fork bike? I love those old BSAs...a friend of mine had a '52 Golden Flash and it was gorgeous! Seeing his shed, with that BSA and a Royal Enfield Interceptor, plus all his other rides, was eye opening to say the least!
