Not sure where to start but here goes..........
I am selling my Proflex Animal....I am original owner and have not ridden in a few years.  This seems like a good place to start. I puchased the bike new in 97 and have not done a whole lot to the bike over the years. I would like to say I have stayed up on bikes but I have not. I live in Rockford Illinois....any questions can be e-mailed to me at ifiwasawas@gmail.com...I will do my best to answer any questions and will happily e-mail pics and what ever info I can back .....If anyone has an idea of what the bike might be worth that would be a goo starting point.
Thanks Brian

Firstly apologies for being one of those that pop up as questions never to be seen again.

I found this site on reccomendation from the chaps over at retro bike uk who thought this would be the best place

I bought a 957 without knowing the true fit/size etc and being a big hoofer at 6ft 3 and 18 stone the small version I bought won't cut it..I know I know..try before you buy next time

anyway..I'm trying to establish  a £ price to sell it on for but am not experienced on the make enough to give a reasonably accurate one..I've looked around, used sold comparissons etc but would greatly value anyones input

here's the thread on the bike..it's on page 163

many thanks for your time

Your  small 957 is in near mint condition. I bought the exact model for my wife. These are highly sought after by Proflex fanatics for thier spouses and kids.  I paid about $500 for my wife's small 957. Not many were made, so they are very rare.

Again, just beautiful.

Thanks Terry

It is in quite good condition although some of the bits have been replaced at some time with cheaper bits.

Thankfully they are little cheap bits like rear mech, shifters etc this one has an fsa  headset ?

I want to sell it to someone who has the cash but also someone who genuinely wants it too

As a rule are proflex's larger? I ask because it's labelled as a small but seems a good size

There were much more medium and large frames made. The small size and Waybig were made in much smaller quantities.

A couple of observations about the small frame is how the shock penetrates into the toptube. Also if you look inside the frame at the top of the noleen shock, there is a notch machined below the eye of the shock to clear the frame. My wife's shock was blown, so I clearanced the frame opening and inserted a standard shock.

I took my 957 out for a ride today. Had be neglecting it for a while while I tinkered with my other bikes. WOW! Seems every time I ride it I declare it my best bike. Proflex just plain got it right.

I saw the rear shock top mount when I took it out for a clean so see what you mean

the good news is that the rear noleen works a treat and as it should, the front crosslinks are spot on and all the linkages are nice and tight with no sideways movement

I think It will be sold this weekend as i need to clear space for another project..the only other option is to hold onto it  and wait for a large frame but I'm not so sure how often they come along?

Here in the US, they are pretty hard to find.  I bought mine on Craigslist and that is the only one I have ever seen on there.  It has been close to a year since I have seen one on ebay.  I have never seen just a 957 frame for sale.

Anyone need this guy?

If so let me know, price would be reasonable plus shipping.

Look!  Another GDT shock.  Don't see those much.

Looks like a nice bike. Crosslinks on the front.

I had a GTD on my beast for a while. It worked pretty good.
