Wanted : Hammerhead adaptor for the rear swingarm of an 857....probably a longshot but don't ask -don't find out! Anyone got one they no longer use and want to get rid of ? Or even an alternative disk brake adaptor...
Thanks
Timbo

Tim - I have a template for the adapter courtesy of Simon if you want to knock one up yourself. Mate of mine did it (the frame you were interested in actually ;-) ) and it works fine. My 857 also has a home made one, not too hard to do.

                                         FOR SALE

Hi everyone
Havent been here for a while and thats why i have my Proflex for sale.
told its a 855(?) i have just bought a new LX drivetrain for it. the only thing that stayed was the bb & crank (liked them and theyre in good shape). new  lx shifters, front and rear deraillers, lx v brakes, all new cables, new tyres, wheels..... even down to the lock on grips.
bought a rear swing arm (exellent cond.) off ebay but there is a 2mm difference so it needs to be shimmed up to stop play.
The elastomers are roc hard but i was planning to use it as a road bike anyway. Had ally discs made to fit between the elastomers as plastic ones were awful.

Its in great shape, just needs a little time and a small amount of tlc.
I have neither, or any money.

if you need more pics/info or have any info then email e.burr@ntlworld.com
open to offers as i dont know what its worth but i would like to cover costs of the new parts.

Thanks

Jake

WANTED:  857 or 957 frameset (small) with or without the crosslink fork.

FOR SALE:  Risse Genesis shock in almost new condition. I had it mounted to my 857 for less than 3 months and replaced it with the old NR-2. Turns out I prefer the the coil-over shock. I sent it to Risse to service and it's still in the sealed bag they retunred it in.

I forgot to mention, I have somehow lost one of the derailer hanger mounting screws on my 857. Anyone know where to find a replacement?

emailed you re. Genesis

the screw I think is a relatively standard one you could get from a hardware store or an online hardware specialist.

Hi guys. I'm new here. Was recommended by Orange though.
I'm after a newer Proflex frame and Crosslink forks. Something similar to 855, 955 and newer not one of the K2 models though. Preferably noleen coil shocks (but not fussed) and an aluminium swing arm. Is that a bit too picky?

Welcome flowerpot.

If you are interested in Noleen shocks, you may want to consider the 857 and 957 with the carbon swingarm and xlinks.

agreed - although the noleens can be retrofitted to the 855 and 955 (I have an NR-4 on my 855) - or you could go for the Risse option... mmmmmmmm!

imho the most upgradeable bike is the humble 756 or maybe the 856.I have upgraded my vector with a carbon crosslink off a 957 and i have a risse terminator(to suit x55 cmplete with freedom adapter) out the back.you get the same frame as 856 but you dont pay a premium for the ods units!I beleive the 756 was not available in all markets though,it came with the friction dampers both ends....basically an 855 with the cone strut   and presumably any frame mods...however any x55 x56 x57 or 1000,2000,or 3000 from 98 wil do the job...a way big for you flower pot I think!,the 757 had an aluminium swingarm, and i think the 2000 from 98 did too,or was the 2000 a 857?(i know the 3000 was basically a 957)
