I see the disc brake holes, but I could not see if they had post mounts for V Brakes.

MADE IN MEXICO????? A little picante please.

So have you or anyone heard of the early swingarms breaking.

I remember some Titanium frame builder using these swingarms for a short run. I think it was Merlin.

Colin, you got me thinking again. Don't make me hurt you!

Good find.

Colin is right if someone in the USA buys these before they are lost forever we can all share the prize. Of course the forum member that buys them has the right to sell them for a profit. I certainly would be interested in one.

I considered buying them but changed my mind after calculating the cost of shipping and duties. I just don't know if the demand is here to make that money back.
24.99$ for the hole lot seems cheep since I would pay that much for one.

Good Show Wankel, however hold back and lurk till the last few minutes if you are able.

The other bidder may have just been testing the waters so to speak.

However your strategy may be in good order, springing early. But  now hold back and lurk. At the last 2 minutes place a higher bid, and then at the last 30 seconds throw in one last bid even if you don't see a change. Sometimes several bids are coming in at the same time. The secondary bid is to overtake the last flurry.

I really am no expert on bidding but this technique seems to be working for me.

Good luck, Terry

P.S. I would also be interested in one if you get them.

Hey, if you won't be around for the end of the auction, I have the ability to bid from my cell phone and it will alert me 5 minutes before the end of any auction I am watching.  I would be willing to "stock" them.
k2 900 rebadged as 959
Proflex 957 x2 (Wife's current ride, and a frame)
554 (frame)
Giant Allegre (road)
Burley Tandem (road)

Thanks for all your input guys :). I don't mind doing it at all. As for the sniping at the last moment, I think I got it covered ;). I'm not new to this .....hehe :).  I just wanted to throw my bid up there to see were the gent was. Hopefully (god willing), we may be able to get these for a good price. but, how much do we want to pay for'em? There's 10, how many of you would need one. I can ship in pretty small packs for my fellows across the sea - and these shouldn't weigh too much. I don't want to make anything on these, I just want to save them from some joker that has no idea as to what he was bidding on - and gets them, just for them to get stuck in an attic - when some of us on here could use them. I'm close to them, so shipping isn't a problem getting them. I have 3 sets of sniper-ware (if you want to call it that) at the ready - I just hope that some morrron doesn't jack the price up too high for us :). I just want to help out. Wish us luck.

Well done Guys!

Terry (Shovelon) you mentioned disc brake holes, I don't think these are........they're the rear strut mounting points on an x57 frame aren't they? (and the rear derailleur hanger holes)
I can see the V-brake mounts so that's fine......

Chad (Wankel) what sniperware are you using currenly? I want to try some out because I can't stand the stress of last minute real-time bidding!
Good luck with this auction, hope no-one else bids against you! $2.60 per swing arm!!

It looks like six of us are interested. Chad I think you should sell them for whatever yo want. It is only fair.
Far be it for me to tell yo how to distribute them.
If all five of us not bidding get one I think you will be easily capable to show a profit.
Lets not count our eggs yet though.

Colin, you got mail ;),... On the bit about the arms having disk amounts - I 100% agree w/ Colin. They have V-brake mounts, no disk brake mounts.

Ionit, I gotcha. But, If I get them cheap - we all get them cheap :). That's just how I feel it should be. Hope it all works out for us!

Very interesting.  If you get a good deal, Chad, count me in, too.  I'd have to modify the s/a to handle my disc, but I think that's not too hard.

Did anyone notice that they look like they are missing the shock mount brackets?  The one in front, on the top of the pile has one, but not the others.  Can you buy a new bracket and is it hard to mount?

Mechanic395, what type of frame do you have?. These are made to fit like this: http://idriders.com/cgi-bin/album_k2.pl?photo=frankd3000/IMG_1094.JPG
. The mounts in the back are where you would go to.

Wankel,

I can definately see the 2 mounting holes on the left side of the swingarm on one of the pictures. It is to mate a disk brake plate on it. That is what I don't have on my swingarm. This was K2 attempt that failled I believe.

I think I see the strut mounts on them. My work PC is really old so I can't make out so well.

Yep, I thought you were testing this initial bidder. Give some thought to the double snipe.

Good Luck, Terry
