A Large x57 for sale here...

Lists as a 957 but lacking CF fork.

Some of the components may not be as listed as well. I just noticed the Crank.

I have seen these before, but this is in mint condition. I never knew what the springs looked like.

Ah ha! I has the old Hayes disk brake hole pattern that you can't buy any more. Must weigh a ton.

I am tempted to buy it.

Found this on ebay...super cheap, I'ed buy it myself for spare parts and whatnot but I cant afford it right now...1 days left, 0 bids and priced at 250 as of this writing. Hurry, hurry, hurry!!!!!

Hello all,

I responded to a Craigslist ad a while ago, before I got my K2 4000, and the seller finally got back to me. She's selling a medium 856, and it sounds like a nice bike. She says it hasn't seen much use, and she's asking $275. If anyone is interested I can check it out for you and snap some pics. I don't know if she'd ship it, but I might be able to drive it north to NY or NJ during one of my family's regular trips up there is someone up there is interested.

Man-o-man, have I caught the bug bad! So I went to look at that 856 for sale here in the WashDC area. It's near mint. After I clean it up I bet it'll look showroom floor new. It must be a later model 856...the frame and shocks are somewhat different than on the early model 856 frame I picked up cheap a few weeks ago...

- early model has ODS (and had elastomers), the later model has Noleens front and rear with coil springs
- early model has no gusset/reinforcement where the downtube meets the headtube (on the underside), the later model does
- early model has "Factory Test" text where seat tube meets top tube, later model has something like "World Class Design"
- early model has steel fork brake bosses, later model seems to have alloy

There may be other differences. The one I picked up yesterday is a silver model (paint seems matte) whereas the earlier frame I have is red (glossy). This silver 856 is in amazing shape...even the original "Girvin" crank (rebranded Sugino) still has the original rings, and they look new. Came with compact pump, computer, seat bag and an extra set of WTB tires, all for $275 (what she was asking). I had planned to haggle with the seller, but really felt it was worth the price or more. I'll post some pictures when I have a chance.
