Hi Guys.
New here, I've got a Animal I bought new in 1997. Hasn't been used a lot as my life has been a bit busy over the past few years and I think I'll sell it.
It's in great condition, even on original tyres! Any thoughts on value?

Thanks

I have a set that are in working condition. The pads are in great condition. I just took them off to put Discs on. I'll post a pic later...
Rear needs a new fitting at the lever end!

How about $75 shipped in the US and $85 overseas? If the price is too high make an offer!

I have a brand new, never mounted rear swing arm for older ProFlex bikes that I don't need!
Make me a reasonable offer including shipping from Cincinnati, OH (45208) to you!
Thanks CinciRider

Hello:

I'm selling my PROFLEX 4500 if anyone is interested.  I love the bike, but I think I need a smaller frame.  It's a 20" frame, so I think it would be labeled LARGE, but I'm not sure.

Here's the ad:  http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/bik/804580437.html

Thanks!

I have a ProFlex 657 Expert Series MTB here in Cinci OH I'm trying to sell.
It's had a number of changes made to it over the years.
Most importanly the change from the Girvin Vector forks (coil over ODS) to a standard Suntour Suspenion fork.
I'm the second owner and I basically put on about 100 road miles on it.
Ask me as many questions as you like and I'll do my best to answer!
I'm a novest, but I've learned somethings from the gang here on the Forum!
I eventually will be building a 957 using the Girvin Vector fork I removed from this 657.
I'm asking $250 and will ship at the buyers expense.
I've got about $400 wraped up in it!
I'm not sure if I want to ship overseas!?!?
Thanks, CinciRider

Hi all,   This is my 857 that Ive spent more money on than I'd like to admit.

It has:   Chris King hubs with Mavic 517 rims
            Chris King headset
            Thomson Elite seatpost and stem
            Risse Astro 5 rear shock
            Risse Genesis front shock
The Girvin Crosslink has carbon legs.
            Everything else is XT
Could you knowledgeable Proflex guys give me an idea of what the "fair market value" is on this Proflex. I am going to be selling it soon and want to know what a fair price would be.  Thanks

Wow, Beerbelly, that's an awesome bike...but you're right, I can see all the places where you invested cash that you might not be able to recoup. As an example of what ProFlexes are going for these days, I picked up a mint condition silver late model 856 from Craigslist a few weeks ago for $275, and it was complete with coil-over Noleens, an awesome compact pump, saddle bag and computer. That's probably on the lower end of the scale, though, and a real find IMO.

From the start, it never hurts to post the bike for what you'd like to get and see if anyone bites. You have a quintessential Proflex setup there, and you might end up hooking a dedicated enthusiast. Maybe ask for $900 initially? I doubt you'll have any takers, but it never hurts to try.

Looks like you're sporting Risse shocks...they're $200 a pop at least. Carbon fiber on the front and back, too. If you wanted to maximize you might consider installing some of the less valuable original components on the bike, and selling higher end parts individually. For example, those Thomson parts go for close to full retail even when used. I'd recommend installing the original ODS units, a cheaper seatpost and stem and possibly the original fork (if that wasn't the original). Try posting the bike (which will still be really nice) for $500 - $600, and then post the parts you removed separately (e.g. $395 for both the shocks which is a little discount over new prices, $50 each for both the seatpost and stem. If you sell the bike and all the parts you could get over $1000 total. I'm not sure you'll see more than that, though.

I'm kind of a newcomer to these bikes...but because I've been scouring the web lately for parts and ProFlex bargains I've seen what people are asking for complete bikes and frame parts...I'll let the experts chime in, though.

Good luck (and keep the group in mind when you end up selling ;-)

- Doug :-)
