Nothing quick service would put right. You have a very nice pair of Proflexs there!

that looks pretty stock!

Well, he did change out the Grip Shift for integrated XTR shifters/brake levers, and XTR brakes, but I think that was it.

Thought I'd share my pic with fellow Pro Flex fans. I purchased this new in 1997, original paint. Upgraded cranks, XTR parts, & Ringle rims/hubs

Sweet looking ride you have there. Is the lock stop guard on the top tube something you made yourself or is it shop bought?

Thank you. That stop actually came on the bike when I bought it in '97.

Always thought about it but not seen one before. It's a good idea to stop the dreaded rope tube dent loads of Proflexs suffer from.

It's saved my top tube a few times in the past :)

After Market (AM) Crosslinks came with a pair of rubber bump stops ("slugs") to glue onto the rear edge of the legs to also help stop dents.
They might have appeared on the last of the x57's as OEM as well, but not 100% sure of that.

Yes my 857 has those from new although they are quite firm so I don't know how effective they would be. The pixie saddle on rjneu's frame is good as it could be used to cover a dent as well.

****** New Addition ! *******

Just picked this little beauty up!

http://idriders.com/proflex/smf/index.php?action=media;sa=album;in=61

A Small 4000 in near perfect condition, to be built up for 'er indoors instead of the Medium OzX which is too big for her.

I bought it from the original New purchaser who got it from a bike shop somewhere near Exmoor at about the turn of the century. Looks like it was built up from a blank frame as there are no other recognisable "K2" type components as would have been fitted to a full spec bike.

Just got to get on with it now!

Still looking for a Small x57 style frame as well!
