I just got this reply from K2!....

Dave,

You will be able to purchase a Fox Shock as an upgrade for your 01 Razorback.  To make your bike compatible you will also need a new Seat Stay as well.  We are making Shock, Seat Stay combo's for the older Razorbacks right now.  The Seat Stay will come in black only and should be available next month, check with your local dealer for price and ordering information.

Subject: Question or Comment for K2 Bike CS

A K2 Bike Site Visitor has submitted a customer service issue.

Name: Dave C

Question or Comment:

I have a 2001 K2 Razorback Team. I have heard that the new Fox pull shock on the 2003s will NOT be able to be used on my 2001 model. I am dissappointed because I have already blown my rear shock. I purchased another one through a local bike shop.

So, my question is, was there any upgrades/reefinements to the 2002 Noleen pull shock? Will the 2002 Noleen work on my 2001 Razorback? If so, where can I purchase a spare 2002 Noleen pull shock? What is the retail cost? Thanks!

-Dave

Could you please tell more? Where did you get the crosslink, and what's the shock model?

I'm asking because I actually wrote to Fox Racing a few days ago and the answer was, "We do make a Float RL to fit the K2 Razorback for model year 2003-04 only. The shock will not fit older year bikes."

Epac,
What did you pay for the new shock and seatstay? Do you have a phone number for who and where you purchased? Thanks!

ok
i purchased the frame for ediscount last spring and promptly broke the rear strut. i called k2 direct. if you look to the left side of this screen you'll see the word links. click on it and you'll find the phone number to k2.
the shock and strut upgrade was 265 dollars U.S.
it was pretty easy to install but i would recommend having a buddy around for the extra set of hands.

the crosslink i also got off ediscount. it was attached to an oz m frame. i sold the frame to carbon kiwi (who seems quite pleased) and kept the fork for myself. i followed OP's directions for a disc adapter and now i have an awesome fork.

hope that helps...any other questions just ask.

Are there any spare noleen mega air shocks floating around, then?  I would love to pick one up for the rear of my bike...

Any help would be great:

I have recently ordered a K2 Razorback 2001 frame from eDiscountbikes.com web store at EBay.

Here's some useful info I have managed to find.
It mostly covers such issues as frame/rear shock maintanance and overhaul kits and rear shock upgrades availability.

I have placed that report at MTBR.com forums because that was the place I originally strated my searches from. http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=4711

Comments welcome.
