sneak preview of new carbon bike
« on: March 13, 2004, 03:46:59 am »
ok, so I know its not a K2, but I do own an Oz (Blue Crush) and I wanted a hardtail version. K2 never made a carbon ht, so I had to get a Giant frame.
anyway, here are a couple of photos of the newly painted frame (painting done by Sem Custom Paint, it is an inside/outside fade of cobalt blue Kandy to white pearl suspended in clear, graphics are all paint, not decals).

below photos I will list current build kit for comments.

ok, build kit:
King headset
LP composites carbon flat bar
LP composites carbon barends
crank bros. neogrips
precision billet twist shifters
precision billet brake levers
precision billet front derailleur
precision billet rear derailleur
avid cable disc brakes w/ custom hope rotors
metawire shift and brake cables
ringle aluminum bottle cages
FSA platinum pro ti bottom bracket
FSA carbon pro crankset w/ fsa rings
sram 8 spd. cassette
salsa rasta ti skewers
A Class Vectra D2 disc wheelset
stan's tubeless conversion
soma inferno 2.1 tires (white stripe on sidewalls-these are soma-branded panaracer fire xc tires)
marzocchi marathon SL 80mm fork
giant carbon seat post
sdg custom saddle
sram chain
x-lite seatpost clamp
the front fender
woodman rear fender
stem - tbd
computer - tbd
is that it?
i guess so, you can let me know if I am missing anything.
three more bike projects to go, not including finishing touch of new wheels and discs on Blue Crush.
project 1: touring bike - currently in work (wait until you see some of the parts I put on this thing! like, campy mountain bike front der, moustache handlebars, you get the idea!)
project 2: dh/fr bike - have fork, wheels, brakes, der., shifter
project 3: restoration of my old Peugeot PX-10E
oh yeah, I forgot, my Calfee is currently getting repainted by Sem Custom paint - so I guess thats a fourth project)

ok, enough for now, time to GET OUT!!
(broken toe is healed enough to fit into my mtb shoes, not road shoes tho, good thing I have frog pedals on ALL bikes)

Nice!

Have you seeked professional help for this addiction!

Do you have a Single Speed?

I frequent the SS board at MTBREVIEW and there never seems to be any talk of Carbon Single Speeds.

Try it you might like it.

Sweet frame and effects!  :D
You are one sick puppy when it comes to custom bikes!  8)

You may want to reduce the image you upload here to a 640x480.  Being a bovine, that grass gets my stomachs churning! [smiley=laughing.gif]
