It finally showed up!!
« on: November 15, 2003, 08:13:17 am »
well, it case anyone cares, just as I was sure I was getting ripped off and the Giant carbon HT frame was never coming, it finally arrived today, and man, is it cool
of course, it has to get the full Dennis-mode custom paint before I can build it up, but it will be cool to have another all-carbon bike. (this will make 3).

although, I will be putting the Raceface alu. cranks I have on it, so it won't be quite all-carbon. but, it will have an all Precision Billet drivetrain (front and rear der., shifters, brakes, and brake levers) so that will be really cool.

anyway, I'm pretty psyched, and now have a place for my Spinergy wheels and xlink from Blue Crush. I'll post pics when its all built up, but don't hold your breath.

have a great day,

What type of paint do you use for carbon fiber.
Do you first have to sand the surface?

Pedro,
yes, the surface must be sanded so that there is no remaining finish over the carbon. It is a tedious and exacting job because you have to remove any kind of clear coat that is on the carbon, but you can't damage any of the fibers.
The paint that was used on Blue Crush was House of Kolor clear paint with a dry pearl mixed in.
hope this helps.
