K2 frame/fork decals for resto project
« on: February 27, 2003, 03:41:15 am »
Hi:

I'm a brand new member and kind of still in the woods. I have a 2000 model K2 Maintime Cruiser (I'm a former bmx'er from the 1970s-80s). I'm looking for decals for the frame (particularly the headtube) and fork. Haven't had any luck with K2 and just wondering if anyone knows were to find decals (even if they aren't the exact ones).
Thanks for any help! [coach_bob@ivwnet.com]

Wolf,
try cyclart.com. they make custom decals and do decals for vintage bikes. check my gallery for the decals and paint job they did on my Oz. they do amazing work, although you will have to pay for it.

Dennis,
I saw the decals cyclart did for your bike and wanted some too.  Unfortunately, they have some sort of policy that they must put the stickers on the bike.  They gave me some sort of legal mumbo-jumbo about making sure that it goes on a K2 bike.  I was quite disappointed.   :'(

oh bummer, I obviously did not run into that problem as I had paint the bike at the same time. Unfortunately, I have no other suggestions for you.

maybe K2 can help?

Thanks for the suggestions/help guys. I guess I'd really be happy with just the classic K2 decal in a size that I could put on the head tube and on the fork legs (about 1.5" high and 2" wide). If anyone knows where I might find these, I'd owe them one! [coach_bob@ivwnet.com]

check on e-bay, they some times have one. shearch for "K2" in bikes and skis, since they have both and you never know where someone will post them.

I bought a pack of the K2 BMX devil stickers (look at my image to the left or check my gallery) If you absolutely can't find anything else, drop me an e-mail and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks Andy:

I'll peek around some more before troubling you. I'm sure something exists out there short of trying to make my own. [smiley=nod.gif]

I also have the modified 959 design we made a while back for our carbon Oz frames.

This could be easily modified to any numberset you wish, and I can provide the file in any format you want.  Then you just take it to a local printer and have them print you off a copy.

Check them out here:

Thanks Jack:

What I'm really looking for is the plain old K2 decal (with just the K and 2) that  goes on the head tube (the trashed on on my bike looks to be about 1.5" high and 2.25" long. If I could find one of those, Id like to have two others for the fork legs. It seems the ones on e-bay are the bigger ones (2.5" high x 3.00 or so wide). Much too big to put on a head tube or fork. Thanks for the input, though!      [smiley=nod.gif]

funnily enough i'm also looking into getting some k2 stickers sorted for my 'new' oz frame [soon to arrive from epac]   ;D
if someone can take a nice closeup digi pic of the decals - and give me the measurements i'll do them up in a vector graphics format that you can take down to yr local signwriter and get him to cut out in vinyl. well not him - but his computer  ;)
i've done this before and it works very well.
anyone interested in helping with the pics/dimensions, please let me know  ;)
