Frame Weight

Has anyone weighed their frame and or frame parts/forks/shocks? I have a '97 Animal with NR4 a carbon swing arm. I would just strip it down and weigh it but really starting to look like a lot of work...

Reverse engineer it. Weigh the bike then lookup the weights for all the components and subtract that. That does sound like a fair bit of work though.

From my walk memory my 957 frameset is 7.5 lbs approx. My 97 Beast was about 9.5 lbs.
Don't trust my memory though.

I think I have it. 2680 grams / 5.9 lbs with carbon swing arm and without shock. Just posted in the "Reader's bikes" section, so you can see how I reverse engineered the weight estimate.
