K2 Pro-flex Chubby LT Fork spring question
«

I just bought a 1999 K2 Proflex Beast for my son but the suspension is way to hard for his weight (90lbs). I heard you can replace the elastomer stack and spring with one spring, is this correct? His rear spring is a NB175 what spring weight should he get?
Thanks in advance

K2 lists for up to 140lbs chubby 3 blue and 3 tan elastomers Pt No M5FR6-2315-000/M5FR6-2312-000 or if its a LT chubby 4 blue 4 tan that is per leg, note blue is soft tan is medium so if you wish to go softer use more blues and less tan, there is only one Pt No for the small coil spring, I assume that is the negative spring and they only do the one spring rate, for the rear up to 140lbs the spring weight should be 550 Pt No NB175-550X this info is for a 1998 beast taken off the K2/Proflex spring/shock compatibility and upgrade chart, the 1999 beast isn't listed are you sure your beast is a 1999 model as the chart list all models up to 2000 perhaps someone can enlighten us as to whether there was a 99 beast an if so was it basically the same as the 98 model ? hope this is of some use,Simon [smiley=nod.gif]
