$75 for just about any frame could be a good deal. In this case, however, you might have a hard time finding a decent price on a replacement shock. The 757 is a '97 model frame (I believe the last digit corresponds to the model year). I think the only shock available for those frames is made by Risse and Stratos.

Here's a link to the Risse shocks:
http://www.risseracing.com/applications/proflex.htm
And a picture of an example:

Stratos only lists the 857, which I believe is the same frame.

its a 1997 model(hence the xx7 model number) and once looked like .

It should have an aluminium swwingarm so it might be a 857.look out for cracks in the frame if it looks like it has been well  (ab)used.

thanks for the info guys.....the guy explicitly pointed out the carbon swing arm.  "it is real neat" exact words from guy over the phone.  I'll post what it is late tonight.

I picked up the frame last night.  Bunch of scratches on it.

I am not positive if it is a 757.  It did have the carbon swingarm, and a girvin fork.

anyone know how i can check what frame this is?

i was also wondering, is this a higher model frame than my proflex 3000?

because if it is i plan to swap the parts from my 3000.  Since the frame is a large which suits my height better than my way big 3000.

post a pic maybe??

my 857 is red w/ a carbon arm (1997)  for $75 i'd almost buy it sight unseen, even if the frame is cracked i'd have another swingarm and able to part out a few exclusive parts....

Hey carbon,

i looked at the pic of your 857 and i am almost certain taht my frame is a 857.

carbon does the 857 come with the rear nr-2 shock?

because mine is missing the shock assembly.

Did the 857 line come out before the 3000?

where can i find a spec sheet on this bike?

i'll try to get a pic up later this week

The bike was a 1997 model year

The 3000 came out in 1998(?)

The infamous nr-2 was standard issue for the bike, Risse makes a great replacement for it. You do have the rear strut???(I hope)

What specs do you need? I have most all of that stuff around here....i need to put it all.  Let me know and I'll find it.
here's a start http://k2bikes.com/tech_library/pdfs2/98/98worldcupframeassembly.pdf

ps if you see any more at 75$...let me know   [smiley=laughing.gif]

Hey carbon,

i'll get a pic up in a couple days when i get my camera back.  The guy who i bought it from said the seal ripped right off because his seat post slipped into it when he took a drop.

so the entire cylinder of the shock is gone.  The rebound (pole?) is still there.  So i will need to purchase a new shock/strut assembly.

Risse makes a rear shock for this frame also?

which model should i be looking for if i decide to get one.

And carbon, i haven't decided yet whether or not to keep the frame.  If i do decide to sell it i'll let you know.  I'll sell it to you for what i paid.

thanks

the strut is part #19 on the .pdf file in my post

my first choice would be an Astro-5, depending on how much you want to spend. form what i hear a Genesis is a much improvement over the Nr-2 for the rear.

what size farme? there might be a sticker near the BB and the down tube.

yup, it's an 857 with a busted rear shock and a scary looking stem on it  [smiley=laughing.gif]

let me know if you do not want it, i'd be interested in taking a peek at it for the swing arm and xlink.

Makes a nice SS, them World Cup frames!
