Where have you been recently on your Proflex?
« on: April 16, 2014, 03:18:38 am »
I'll be honest and admit, this is just an excuse to get people to post some photos of your bikes and where you've been riding recently. The sun is out, the sky is blue and we a want Proflex in the view!
Post some photos people!

Local forestry trail to me on Saturday just before I start the ride back through the forest.

I went this past sunday to Woodward Park here in Fresno. Its the first offroad ride since I fixed my rear shock.  I' m not sure the acreage but its pretty big and since I was there last they have spent some money on the BMX track and the Mountain Bike track and trails. I am going again this weekend I will try and click a few photos

Excellent. That bluebell wood looks beautiful and it would be really nice to see what Fresno looks like. Keep the photos coming.

Where's the Bluebell wood? I'm likely to be in Badby Wood and Everdon Stubbs in Northamptonshire in the next few days and the bluebells are early here!

(Then again everything in the natural world is about a month early in the UK this year, my bees will be swarming soon if I'm not careful!)

Hi All

Colin the Bluebell wood is in kent near Leeds castle its one of my short routes this year seems to be one of the best for  the blue bells smell is great too. Tel not done Bedgebury yet but been around Bewl water a few times most of my riding is along the North downs way and Mereworth woods leading into Ightham this is the book I use  some great rides in there. http://www.bikemaps.co.uk/se-england-mtb/north-south-downs-mountain-biking.htm  I take it you ride Bedgebury ? I must give that a go.

Had a good ride today along my regular route. It rained heavily for the last hour but I kind of like it when it gets messy.
Before it rained on the way down

Went for a road ride today with a little trail path on the way.
Still rides perfect, but my right thumb is still getting numb...

Only took a photo when I arrived at the garage, next to its newer company.

looks nice. Where's that?

It's forestry a few miles out side of Cardiff. I use it as part of my regular loop.

Chris

I don't know about the thumb... But everytime I ride the Animal I get a numb right thumb. Something isn't right and I think I need to change some things: a bigger stem, change the angle of the handlebar and move the shifter away from the grip. That should do it.

As for the Animal, that frame is near to be taken apart... I'm painting a k2 proflex 1000 in a dark brownish grey, putting some 957 decals and clear coat everything (it just got sprayed with the first layer). I don't think its worth having two Proflex x57 frames at the moment so I will transfer the components from this to the new frame. I'm honestly reluctant on doing this, but I think I will end up with a spare frame and carbon crosslink fork and eventually will use and modify the rear strut to get a modern shock in.

I was building one for road use only, but then the Yeti unexpectedly came in and changed my plans.
