Also, some x56 frame style bikes were known as "Beast" or "Animal" but be careful as other designs of bikes were also called this!

Auch einige x56 Rahmen Fahrräder wurden "Beast" oder "Animal" genannt, aber vorsichtig sein, da andere Entwürfe von Fahrrädern auch diese Namen!

Bush= the nylon bearing which the brocken part of strut pivots on the swing arm.
Also check swingarm main pivot bearings for side play or movement.
Good luck

Chris
The word is "bushing", not "bush". A bush is a small plant that grows outside.

Two more question.
Is the sitze of the swingarm the same for all the bike size. The PDF-File from collin suggest that yes.
Can i Use the swingarm from the Proflex 657 for the Proflex 856? Are the other swingarms that are compatible?

I just see Both question, answer is "Yes" isn't it!
I collect the information from the tech archive on this forum. Very nice Forum!
The swingarm and the strut are the same for all sizes, but they are different between the World Cup frames and the Expert Series frames. You need a strut for a World Cup frame.

In addition to shrubbery...  A bush can be something else.

bush2  /bʊʃ/ Show Spelled [boosh] Show IPA
noun
1. a lining of metal or the like set into an orifice to guard against wearing by friction, erosion, etc.
2. a bushing.
verb (used with object)
3. to furnish with a bush; line with metal.

Hi guys,
Sorry for answering so late but I have a lot of work here. The strut from Willie B arrived a few weeks ago. Unfortunately the strut ist to long for the bike. It looks like mine but is about 5 cm longer.

Hi Guys., I may be wrong here but isn't the broken part epoxy fixed into the strut arm, I seem to remember maybe Shovelon doing some welding here and melting the adhesive. if im right could the new strut be heated to remove the broken bit and the same with the new part and swapped over?
Cheers, Tel.

I did not know there was a difference so never thought to measure it. Sorry about the confusion.  :( :(

Hi guys, as nobody has yet told me I`m wrong (yet) the broken part is only bonded into the strut and would be common to both struts, it is fitted in and bonded with epoxy resin. look at your picture and you can see a line around the broken part just bellow the sticker I`m sure that this line is where its bonded in!
Cheers, Tel.

Yes Tel, I recall stories of strut arm tubes being "fired" torpedo fashion across the room once heated until the epoxy melted!

Not sure if it was an exaggeration, but seems to confirm that they can be dismembered.

Were they epoxy?  I know after I detonated two of the steer tubes I took a look down inside the third one and it looked more like a methacrylate adhesive.

OOOOooops ! Sorry!
I'm exceeding my technical knowledge by referring to it as "epoxy", please read "stuff" wherever I have said "epoxy"!
I can't even say the word that w2zero refers to! <GRIN>

I don't know for sure which adhesive they used.  Just commented on the appearance of one of them.  I used a few high-zoot epoxies at work.  Later on we switched some of our adhesives to the methacrylate system for small repetitive joints and I recall applying heat to remove a bond or reposition it.

I stumble on the pronunciation as well.

Epoxy is the glue of choice for all things carbon and car radiators! It fixed my rad for two years before I sold the car :). The other stuff sounds like a cure for drug addiction ?!? :o
