upper link mount replacement on Styriette
« on: August 20, 2013, 03:31:18 pm »
Well, here's another retro bike enthusiast first time on this site (posting that is).

Anyone ever seen the Noleen on the Styriette ebike?. After numerous plans on building my own pre 1930's retro bike with a Noleen retrofitted, I decided to buy the Styriette with Discs and Bionix ebike system. It's arriving tomorrow (hopefully) from JV Bikes in Vancouver BC to Toronto Canada. The $4,500 bike was on sale for $2,900 so I bit.

Things I dislike about the bike 1) The price 2) The custom upper link mount 3) Chain not belt drive 4) Ugly frame 5) Needs more power.
Things I like about the bike 1) The Noleen 2) The Noleen 3) Bionix internal 3-speed 4) Disc brakes.

Here the mod list I've compiled for my 'to do' list 1) replace Styriette's ULM-upper link mount with an Noleen original one 2) replace frame with retro steel, ideally titanium 3) convert to belt drive 4) All black, none of that blue highlight puke.

Money and time are the constraints.

Anyone know what version of Noleen fork the Styriette uses?. This will help me determine what upper link mount I'm looking to buy. Before I ask if anyone has a ULM part hanging around, I'll post some pics. Maybe in the next few days when it arrives.

Later

It is similar to a Girvin fork but looks to be their own design.  Their upper link mount  incorporates the  stem in a manner wholly unlike the proflex version.
To use the girvin ulm would require using the whole girvin fork in my opinion.  That is what I can see from an enlargement of the bike.
