anyone 5'11 riding an Oz medium?
« on: May 01, 2012, 05:15:19 pm »
Found an Oz medium for sale nearby.  I had a large, but with the only difference being the top tube length...according to past reads here.   Seriously tempted.  Anyone else in the 5' 11 " height range riding a medium?

Im 6'2" and normally ride a large, but my OZ turned out to be a medium - incorrectly advertised. I did find it cramped and a bit twitchy, but as the OZ is set up slightly differently from my large 4000 (seat post, stem and bars ) it was probably not a fair comparison. Set up right I think you would be fine at 5'11".

Yep, just about 1" longer for a Large

shame you're not in the UK, I'd swap you my large frame for a medium....................offer open to anyone else as well.

I'm 5'8" and Mediums are spot on for me.

Are you thinking a longer stem and slide the seat back a touch?

I've ridden a medium for a short time and had no problems - bike seemed a little more nimble than my larges.
Just a hair under 6' tall for me.

Exactly my thoughts.  A little cockpit modifications are worth the ride of an Oz.  I picked up my ailing Oz frame last night (13,000+ mile veteran) and came close to tears!

I'm 5' 10'' and ride an Oz medium & XP-X Medium & they're perfect for me, but it will depend on length of legs vs arms etc. I tried a 171/2 inch Genesis & it felt miles too small, but the OZ large would be too big because of the reach.

Just checked sticker, 18'' - that is a medium, right?

Ha ha......no, it's a large!
XP-X's came in 14", 16", 18" and 20", Small, Medium, Large and Way Big
Oz's were 16" and 18", Medium and Large.

Is it the XP-X or the Oz that has the sticker, or both?

Agree with you on leg length being an important factor, my Bro-in-law and I are the same height but he has noticeably shorter legs, so bikes fit us very differently!

The stickers on the XP-X, but that would explain why I put a riser stem on that brings the bars up & towards me as they always felt a bit of a stretch.
Standard leg length is perfect, never needed to trim the seat post, just left it on the stops.
