Nice time at Henniger

Thought I would show this pic. My Offroad climbed it like a champ. Above the trees is Mount Wilson where the the telescopes and antenna towers for L.A. are.

Ok, here is another from 2 weeks ago on the Reseda to The Sea route towards Sunset Blvd. In the background  to the left is the San Fernando Valley where I live.

To the south over the pass is the City of Angels. Center-left are the Hollywood Hills, just above the high rises.

How's your star thistle down there this year? Up in norcal it is awful, a bumper crop of pain and agony.  >:(

If this is what you are referring to I hate them. It was worse a couple of months ago. Good thing they only sting for a few minutes.

you have them, we have these (stinging nettles). Hurt like 30% of a bee sting, (I then get hallucinations at night - but that's just me!!), then itch like mad for a couple of days. Right now they are verywhere overhanging the paths at leg height.

In NorCal we are blessed with having both thistles and stinging nettles along the river and lake trails, make for some interesting post ride celebrations.

Keep an eye out near the sting nettles for jewelweed or curly dock weed.  They can help if you mash up the leaves and wipe on the nettle burn.  Dock has long spear like leaves with ruffled edges.  I just grab anything that ain't nettles or poison ivy and start crushing and wiping.

My scout troop was more of a black ops group.  We learned first aid because we intended to cause injury.
