Anyone in the Clarksville, KY area?
« on: April 19, 2010, 07:18:25 pm »
I'm going to visit my brother and taking my 5500 with for training.  Anyone on here from there that could take me out and show me a round?

Thanks,
Rich

Well, I rode on base a bit and then my brother and I went out Rotary Park.  Real nice trails for just there in Clarksville.  Good guys at the Bicycle Center, they'll try to help you if the can.  Turns out he sees a lot of ProFlex bikes from Army guys bringing them back from Europe.  He said they were sold over there when the brand was liquidated.  We tried to rent a decent bike for my brother, but all we got was Huffy Ironman, which wouldn't shift to the big cog.  Either way, when we were young I would take him racing with me (I was 19 and he was 12) and he could out climb just about anyone.  Now, 6 months after breaking his leg, his "fat" brother dropped his candy Army ass without much effort at all.  I heard a lot of complaining about it being a hardtail over some of the technical sections, but mostly that was the sound of his ego being crushed as pedaled my 6'2" 220lbs carcass away from him with ease. It's a bit like Magnus Bacstead riding away from Lance Armstrong on an Alp stage of the tour.  I'm not letting him live this one down. :D  On the flip side, I was none too excited about picking all those ticks off of me.
