Yes I agree. After all that effort stripping it, it looks lovely bare. Polish it! :)

Polish you say....  ;)

I might look into geting it bright anodised instead, should be a bit more durable than a straight polish I hope.

Straight polish with Autosol lasts a long time. Just as long as it takes to coat an anodized frame with mud or dirt.
I ride my 957 quite a bit, and every other month I just bring back the luster. Once you get it polished the first time, the hard part is done.

Very nice fella!

I had some Mugen wheels for my Prelude polished some time ago, so I might take the frame down to the polishers to see what he can do.  I also thought maybe get teh swing arm polished and have the frame done battleship grey.....  bloody thinking not enough doing lol.

BTW, just picked up a brand new pair of M520's for 30 dollars, so about 15 quid in old money. Result!

Excellent!
That'll be a flyer!

What make are the bar ends?
They look like the Ti one's I've got on my XP-X ('97 x56)

What front shock are you using?

Thanks Col, the barends in question are Onza, really light as well, they are going in favour of some Scott AT4's I recently bought.  As for the shock, its a standard Noleen, although I'm off to see my mate who does CNC work to draw up some adaptors so other shocks can be used.  Still got a way to go with it, its basically the waiting game name for parts. Gil from the cycleshed has done me some awesome decals for it as wel, so looking forward to getting those in the next week or two. Also got some magura spares coming as well so I can bleed the brakes and thread the hose properly.  Dying to ride it though haha!

Oh! NOW I'm really jealous!

Those AT-4's are exactly the type of handlebars I have been imagining for my XP-X in Road Warrior mode for my Lands End to John O'Groats ride this September!

I currently have straight handlebars with long "ski" bar ends which gives me a few extra positions, but I'd also like an "aero" position, so was contemplating bolting on a "Tri" bar as well!

Or I was considering a "butterfly" comfort bar but all of the one's I have seen bring the main control handlebars too far back.

Those AT-4's do all of those jobs in one set of handlebars!

I WANT A SET!!!

but they seemed to stop making them in 1996!

I'm going off to sulk now!

Hey Colin,
I saw you are doing the Lands end - John O Groats ride. I don't know your route but it might be an idea to get a list of people prepared to help eg if you have bike issues & are nearby you could use my repair, shower. food, clothes washing etc facilities.

I'm near Blackburn & could meet you if needed.

I got these by accident Col, badly listed on eBay as it turns out. I had mentioned to one of the fellas on Retrobike if he wanted to sell his set them give us a hoy.  About a week later he emailed me the ebay link and a few bids later i got them.  Paid 50 quid for them which i was a bit miffed at but i wanted them so ya gotta pays!  Got my Bontrager cranks today and Campagnolo seat collar so whacked them on the Raceface ISIS BB and was fiddling with my SPD's, so damn close to riding it lol.  Got an email from CRC to say the XTR levers I've got on back order wont be in till the 21st of this month.  i can then tape up the handlebars then.  I was going to put some Ritchey TCV's on the bars but they are pretty narrow as it is and having grips go half way round the corners looks a bit crap, so I got some Ritchey Pro blue cork tape which should look pretty decent and lightweight!

I have been checking out the Risse Racing shocks, and they look a decent upgrade, anyone had any dealings with them, and can you still get them new?
