This seller has intentionaly misrepresented the description of this 856 to yank the sale if it does not meet his expectations. Obviously it is not a K2, and not an evo, and not a 1999.

That's a circa 1996 "856" model PRO~FLEX bike, not a 1999 K2 Evo Flying Monkey.
Still a nice bike, but I suggest that you update your description so that you don't mislead anyone.......

I have seen quite a few sellers end a sale with the excuse that the description was misleading, only to reappear with higher reserves. On one I had pointed out an error and would take as is to no avail.

Some listings can be ended early if no one bids, which is why you see at least one bid on most items to lock it in, then a flurry at the end. No, I think this guy has rigged it.

Well, I did wrote him this:

"Hi. Are you sure you posted the right pictures? That's not a K2, it not an EVO frame, and it isn't from 1999. That's a x56 (eg 856) style frame, from 1996 when they were called Pro-Flex. The k2 bikes never adopted that frame, since 1997 was the last year that frame was used (657). So, you can call it a ProFlex 856 or 756, but never a K2, or 1999, or Evo Flying Monkey (that had a completely different frame)."


Here is the answer the seller gave to me:

"Hey thanks for the Info, I dont know much about bikes or this bike I have had it for years. I was told that It was a K2 Evo. Im going to end the auction and relist it. Can you tell me exactley what it is so I get the title and desription right. I just did a quick search on google and realized you were right thanks again..."

These days they start out white. There is a whole industry that just does prefab garage doors. With all the building and remodeling in the last few years here, there are an awful lot of white garage doors.

But mine is green(no not for environmentalism).

this ebay listing scam is well known - They are easy to spot by us, proflex experts, but not by the general public.  I have customers coming to me for elastomers who have bought Proflex 656's etc after being told they are worth $1500+ and have bought them for a lot of money only to find that the bikes are old and the elastomers hard.

Maybe he was just genuinly mistaken and he appeared to welcome our advice?
