Just FYI, those Ti springs on US eBay

Hello all,
Just wanted to share something with the people on this list re: those Ti springs on US eBay being advertised for ProFlex bikes. I had originally purchased a pair for my 4000, but they didn't work so well on it...the rear was just too soft at about 425 lbs. However, I find that both springs, one around 400 lbs and the other around 425 lbs, work very well on an 856 I have. The bike previously had a COR kit installed, but the rear COR spring was always a little stiff for me. I used the COR kits bottom retainers after turning down the inner step diameter a bit on my lathe to fit inside the Ti spring's ID, and used the stock ProFlex bronze-colored top retainer with my ODS units. The result is a very light setup that seems to be just right spring tension-wise (I have a bit of pre-load dialed in on the rear, none on the front). In general I'm going to see just how light I can make this bike with an XT setup, and will report back my results.
- Doug :-)

Yeh, I run Ti springs on my ODS equipped XP-X, everything else is stock except a Body Geometry saddle and XT trigger shifters rather than SRAM twisters. It's still got the original Magura HS11's on it which I guess might be heavier than V Brakes?
it weighs 26lb all up.
