Anyone had any experience with these rims ,in there day I think they were known to be light but did that mean weak too ? I have now damaged 2 , the rear went first and now the front , I am after some Campagnolo A-Teks , of similar look any ideas , for my now out of action 954 . cry cry cry !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have 221's on my XP-X & they are fantastic. Bought new in 97 & they are as true now as the day I got them & I'm no slimline 220+pounds.
They're not a flat rim, they have a raised profile.

I think the original wheels on my 754 were Mavic 231's...I turned the front wheel into a pretzel while riding DH about a year after I got the bike. Definitely wasn't made for a big fat guy like me to hit rocks and tree roots with at speed.

Hi
Thanks for feed back so far , but I am no fat boy , Im a Healthy 13 stone 10 lbs , and mine have gone from only landing 3 ft jumps , but on rough ground , they were quite old though .
Any ideas on replacements , struggling with the C A-Tek's , want to keep it near origonal as possible
