It depends upon which spring conversion kit you have.
The two that I am aware of (Speedspring and RDS) both use replacement "top hat" spring end plates.
Just measure the min/max length between the end plates when the pre-load is wound fully out and in and get something inbetween.
I have run 90mm long Speedsprings on my XP-X, but you can go down to about 74mm which is the length of the Ti Coils that I currently use. Internal bore is 32mm.
The right weight spring for you is:
Rider weight (lb) / Spring rate
150-190 / 350in/lbs

the options for an 856 are:
+ the short noleen NR2 that had the specific end cap for the 856 strut
+ speedsprings (not sold anymore)
+ cor springs (nb: I sell these; we had a big delivery of them this weekend)
http://www.rapiddescentscotland.co.uk
+ Stratos Strata air shock (I haven't seen one in a while)
+ Risse Genesis with the adapter
the cor springs are about 190lbs/in for the front and about 340ish on the rear and as colin says, use cnc'd end caps that fit over an ODS shock.
