Certainly not like that! Usually the water soaks in and disappears in a day. ???

last weekend, 52.5km, 1934m climb!  This is Castle Campbell in the Ochil Hills in Scotland.  It is a relatively new castle, built in the 15th century, nestles in between some very deep gorges.  There are loads of mountain bike trails (Scotland has free land access for mountain bikes) in all directions - but we had descended about 1800ft to this point.

yeah - I was showing off a bit - but in scottish history, this is quite new.  It was built to be defensive but never needed to protect itself.  Mary Queen of Scots stayed there for a while.  It's worth a visit if you are in the area - you can get guided tours into the dungeons!!

If you are planning a trip - bring a bike (or rent one - I can direct you to the best places) - the US Dollar is so strong against the GB Pound so you'll get excellent value for money.  Also, you can ride anywhere you like in Scotland because of a new law that allows access to mountain bikers, horse riders and walkers to the countryside.  There are also plenty of mountain bike parks that the government built (if you like the man made trails).  They are all free to use.

My family traces its roots to Clan Campbell and I'm related to Rob Roy MacGregor of Ballacullish.  You may have seen the film.

Which film? This one?
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1506380288/tt0046246

But you've had to use the name Wilson, as it's illegal to use the surname MacGregor isn't it? <GRIN>

(This may have been repealed since Rob Roy was a naughty boy....................)

If he hadn't have been pardoned you might now be writing this from the colonies!

Well small planet. I talked today with a sales rep with the last name MacGregor. A way back Rob Roy's grandson emigrated to Canada. From there is where his immediate family has roots.
