2009 Noleen crosslink question

Hi, new boy on the scene here.
I know its a probable no, but im after the replacement bearing kit and seal kit for a crosslink 1998 fork.

Ive searched high and low and cannot seem to be able to get these parts anywhere.
I believe the ones im after are the RK006 and the RK004.

I know im asking alot but if anybody could please help me i would be ever so grateful.
I had a set of carbon's with the smart shock back in 99 and hope to relive the infamous j-path!

Any help would be appreciated - i look forward to your replies , best wishes Mike

someone here might be able to help you out -

what's the condition of the existing bearings
and, did you contact k2?

i've a few crosslinks that have been in constant service since that time and have never had to change them out -
been lubed pretty regular tho.

look at the stickies for contact details for iron horse,i beleive they have all the old k2 parts....read the whole thread(or at least the end),i think the correct contact details are near the end.

For seals, which I believe are nylon washers, there is metric size that McMaster.com has.

It is P.N. 95610A170. Type that into the search box, and see if it will work. If not, click the full page of the items, and look for either larger or smaller ones.

Colin here, Yes I bought a job lot load of kits off K2 (now Iron Horse) a couple of years ago for various UK/European based people on here and a few extras of each kit.
The downside of buying them off Iron Horse is that their shipping cost is enormous and by the time you add on import duty, Customs clearance and VAT, a couple of kits become exorbitantly expensive.

All my spares have gone now apart from a few RK008 pivot kits for the 4000/5500/Oz range.

If you like I could add you onto a bulk order (if they have got any left).

Yes, RK006 and RK004 are the one's you need for a Crosslink

Non-negotiable I'm afraid! $60 odd bucks for P&P for even one kit! They wouldn't budge!
That's why it's worth me getting a few people together to share the P&P, import duty, VAT, customs fee, etc etc....
I was able to do most kits for £8 each to members, but given the $/£ rate slide, I guess that would have to go up a fair bit.

I have got a waiting list already started, so as soon as I have enough people/kits to make it reasonable, I'll enquire to see what kits they have left.

Why not purchase the kits but have them sent to someone in the states from this site, then have them forwarded onto you as a gift with declared low value or marked as secondhand bike spares with low value ??
Your postage will be greatly reduced and you won't pay import duties, I do it all the time.

we could get one of our US guys to be a clearing house?.....I would be prepared to put in some dosh to set up a stock somewhere...They could then be sent out as required by say US postal service...Its perhaps bit of an imposition,but no more than you are already doing Colin.That way the initial postage is much more reasonable????

I am US based. I just got the contact email bounced back so I have emailed the main company address asking for parts info. I know our postal system has a flat rate international box that could hold abunch of the kits. I think it is $25 for whatever will fit in the box. I will update here or maybe start a new topic when I hear back and find out more. I have the room and resources to do this.

Yes, the idea of "forwarding" stuff is a good option, but last time, I bought something like $500 worth of kits and so the "overhead" costs were split quite a few ways, making it quite reasonable.
The downside of doing what you suggest is that the contents are then only insured for the declared value (<£18 or <£36 for a gift) so if it goes "walkies" it's a big loss.
Also, I think Iron Horse's shipping cost within the states was $20 and then an additional $25 to forward the stuff to the UK, so not much real benefit there.

I'm quite happy to do the same again if the waiting list is big enough.
