How tall are you and what size proflex?

and also what size proflex are you all riding?

6' 2"  K2 4500 Large 110mm stem, some layback on seat post, seat right back,shallow riser bar, Proflex 856 18" 130mm stem no seat post layback,seat right back, flat bars.

5'11" K2 5000 Large. Perfect fit.

110mm stem, setback seatpost with saddle all the way back. Riser bars.

My wife's medium is really close to the same size, but feels a bit too small.

I found someone selling a proflex 5000 on the west coast.  The thing is it's a way big.  So i won't be able to see if it is the right size.  I am exactly 6 feet with out shoes.  180 lbs.  

Will this thing be too big?  i don't want to pass up a good deal

  [smiley=coolfrown.gif]yea, that's too big a bike. you have to be at least 6' 2"- 6' 3" because it has such a long top tube. i have a '98 4000 and a '01 razorback. they are both larges with 120mm stems and i'm 6' with a long torso.

Like bikendan says too big, but would you buy a bike without trying it first even if it seems a bargain, to big a risk. [smiley=disbelief.gif]

I am 6' exactly and I ride a '98 5000 frame in a size large. I think it is 19"

  I am 6'3" and my Pro-flex 856 is a way big (20").

I ride a large animal (98) and I am 6'2 I think it fits great. If you are 6'0 I would think a way big would be too big.

I'm 5'8" and I ride a large 5000 and a medium Disco Monkey.  The 5000 is set up as a cross country trail bike and the DM was built to practice jumps and stunts on.  Check them out in my gallery.

Both fit and handle well but after riding the DM my 5000 feels somewhat more top heavy at low speeds.  The DM handles with great precision, allowing me to change my line on a berm or in a corner with no problem.  On the 5000, I pretty much commit to a line and thats it.

On the other hand; the 5000 feels very solid on high speed (thats like 35mph for me) downhills, whereas the DM tends to feel a little squirrely at those speeds.   Both climb quite well.
