Finally got around to fitting a Manitou SPV 4 way to the OZ. It replaces the SPV coil unit that was on there before.
First impressions are the lighter frame weight , and balance when you pick up the bike. Before you could feel the weight of the coil pulling down behind the saddle.
I have so far got 150psi in the main can, and 60psi in the piggy back, and 1 turn in on the ramp up adjuster.

The lower frame mount needed a fair bit of fettling to get enough clearence around the air can. Theres about 8 - 9mm of ally left around the bolt hole,and the 'ramps' flatted down.
Its a 212 x 64 unit, fitted 'upside down' with the air can lower , and the piggy back up top

Hopefully give it a good thrashing over the weekend, to see how it goes

150 psi in the main can seems much to me. I use 100 t o 110, but that is me.

i know i dont have the same shock, but ive got over 200psi in mine but then again im a bit of a lardarse at the moment.

I put a Fox AVA shock on one of my disco monkeys and love it but I had to grind down one of the flanges on the swing arm shock mount in order to be able to get to the air valve. So far so good. But I would like to do the same for my OzM BUT without doing any grinding on the flanges as they don't seem as stout as on the disco monkey. So does anyone know what list of air shocks can fit the OzM without a Frankenstein approach to the situation and pixs to illustrate would be grand! Henry

ive just bought a 215mm i2i one of these today for £21 off fleabay, dont know whether to use the bushings i made for my x fusion or get some from tf tuned, if you get some pics of your installation done i wouldnt mind having a look at them.

my shock arrived this morning so after a bit of grinding and a bit of fiddling on it went, good job ive got 120mm forks up front as it kicked the back end up a bit although once ive set more sag on the shock it sits in its travel nicely. ive set it up with 100psi in the spv chamber and 175psi in the can, havent had time to go for a proper ride yet as in going to invest in some steel bushes for the shock from tftuned. and here it is.

Great looking Oz, Jeff!

Inspires me to get on with my own total Oz build!
(Front - Maverick DUC 150mm forks; Rear - Manitou Swinger 3 way SPV Air 215mm)

I assume that you considered putting the shock on the other way up?
Was the clearance worse?
I'm hoping the 3 way has better clearance and won't need "adjusting" of the mount.

Nope. It won't mount the other way round (at least on my 5000 - the eye is too close to the body).

thanks lads much appreciated, im still toying with your bearing conversion simon if youve still got the spare swingarm you may be getting a pm in the next few weeks i just need to get a shaft machined first, although ive hi jacked the thread a bit ive got IMO`s (rob`s) pics of his oz and very nice it looks too.

Thanks Jeffhop, most of the piccys are a tad dark, but it was gone 7pm when i took the pics.

Think they clearly show the amount of metal removal neccessary to get the SPV body to clear the frame.

Added another turn on the SPV volume adjuster so it ramps up quicker. Those wheels look awful spindly in the pics against a white backdrop, but not trued them in over 1000 miles off road.
