Karma?
« on: April 06, 2008, 12:03:50 pm »
OK I see this karma line and that I have a "1" in my user name description box.  But the bigger question is what is it...what is karma.  I think therefore I am, I think.

That is why I had such a sweet ride today; my karma improved.

Last week I took the Oz to Moab.  We had a grand time.  See the pictures in my gallery.

Just a Karmic observation for my dear old mates in Proflex/K2 Land...

About a year ago in a fit of passion I bought a new Giant Trance from my LBS... It had everything I had trained myself to despise: Innumerable pivot points in a multi-link suspension (Sure to wear out and creak expensively!); an impossible to access air shock (200 PSI - are you kidding!?); hydro brakes (Who's going to bleed those?); and it was 29 lbs compared to my 27'ish 856.

Well, surprise, the Giant is really nice actually. Very little maintenance and a very impressive ride.

Unfortunately, it turns out the Giant has no soul. The cyber-home for the millions of Giant riders is an endless -and pointless - cluster of threads on MTBR. If there are any Saints and Gurus, I can't find 'em. For Pete's sake, where else are perfect strangers going to send each other parts? For free!? Or visit one another and carry parts around the world? What a fine corner of the web we have here.

And no, my last 856 is not for sale anymore!

Anyhow, a round of Karma stars to all y'all from Texas. Thanks.
