My 855 - is it unusual?
« on: February 20, 2008, 03:43:45 pm »
Just wondering as the only other one I've seen with Shimano written on the top tube was Henrik Djernis's. Legend had it mine was owned by one of the Grewal brothers (as told to me by the previous owner). Did the 855 come with these decals as standard at one point or did it indicate something else?

I have never seen the shimano decal on any bike shop models. So maybe it is a sponsered model.

Cool, I want one. 8)

btw henrick used *&^% hard elastomers...i got some at Cairns...(i think) I was talking to the mechs about the stiffness of my front forks(before i discoverd the new "extreme seals). They gave me some "new elastomers" that they though were too soft for him...the rears were like concrete compared to the stock ones!,fronts also stiffer than my std "way big" set up.(stickers can be added you know!)I saw the same stickers when the evo/strut bikes like carbon angusses came to wellington many years ago.

I had heard that in fact the rear was so stiff on his frame that it didn't actually move at all - it was just for show.

it moved a bit for mee but i was considerably heavier than him...you can see the front soft elastomer has squished(a bit)
