Noleen NR 4 rear shock
« on: May 28, 2003, 10:38:39 am »
Hello! I just blew my nr4 rear shock. Can this be rebuilt at home? The shaft pulled itself apart from the tube and oil flowed like wine! If I can refillit with oil, how do I get the 2 halves to stay together? Thanks in advance

[smiley=worry.gif]did you lose the nitrogen charge? you do have a piggyback reservoir on the shock, right? you need a special kit to recharge the nitrogen. you might get a motorcycle shop to try it. my suggestion is to send it to noleen shock service. the guy who started noleen has a shop that rebuilds all types of mtb shocks. here's the link:
http://www.noleenshockservice.com/
this is also found under the links section here. they can even valve it for your weight and type of riding. they charge $100 to do the rebuild. give them a call.

I found their website yesterday and talked with them. I will be sending the shock to them for repair. I had no idea that it was Nitrogen charged, so obviously I can't do a home repair. Thanks for your reply..
