risse is awesome!
« on: December 18, 2006, 05:51:50 am »
Hi,

Just thought I'd give Risse Racing some good publicity. I contacted them recently about sending my astro 5 back for a rebuild. I also asked if they could anodize the silver alu. parts to match the other anodizing on my bike. the answer was yes!! woo-hoo!!

of course, they are charging a bit, but I think its great that they accomodate their customer's wishes.

Yeah, once the 856 and v link are set.  A Risse is my last major purchase!  All I have to do is keep pogoing until I save the cake.

What did they charge for the anodization?

To answer both questions at the same time:

they are charging me 120.00USD to match the turquoise color of the other parts. I need to send them a part so they can match the color. This is cheaper than some of the other anodizing I had done for the bike.

next step, get a SRAM XO drivetrain to replace the precision billet stuff, and get the alu. parts anodized to match.

in work: polishing Avid disc brakes to get them anodized to match also. then I need to think about what wheels to replace the custom painted Rev-X's with. If I can get the money together I want to go with Xentis Kappa wheels.

to think this all started with an Oz frame and fork from ediscountbike.com for 500 or so bucks, and a precision billet turquoise rear derailleur from ebay for about 50 or 60 bucks.

"Blue Crush" will never be complete it seems.
