Proflex 854 bushings, I need complete set?
« on: August 31, 2006, 02:01:04 am »
Does anyone know where i can get some replacement bushings for this bike?  Also, does anyone have a cheap alternative for this suspension.  I am just getting into bikes and know very little.  I got this bike free.

Click on the K2 parts sticky close to the top of the forum page.

As far as suspension goes, Risse is the only shock maker providing aftermarket shocks.

Good Luck,

Thanks Terry, they only have the fronts available.  Do you or anyone know if I can replace the bushings with springs or is this bike just a waste of my time?

Iīm with Orange.

Pro-flex are not a waste of a time, by the contrarie they require a lot of attention and dedication that will be retirbuted from the bike.

You should really try rappid descend. But I think that for now they donīt have the cor springs available. Iīstill waiting for an answer of them.
Best regards.

the 856 has a simple oil damper which can be upgraded to take a coil spring in place of the MCU spring. What bushings do you need?Did you try Iron Horse?

Guys I messed up.  The bike is a 854.  Sorry for the confusion.  Is there still a replacement option for the bushings.  I am still learning here.. :)

I think the 854 does not have elastomers on the back. You could load the spring pack with rubber gromets. Or even purchase a front elastomer set and jury rig them on the back.

Just my opinion, but if you need front vector bushings, and they are not available, get a cheap slider fork instead.

I don't think he means "Bushings" as in pivot kits (bushes), I think he means Elastomers (MCU's)

Are they the yellow bits that go "squish, squish, squish" when you bounce on the bike?

Sorry for the confusion folks, but yes, I need the yellow Elastomers (MCU's).  They are on the front and back, the back ones seem very easy to replace, the front one's not so much, atleast for me.  Also, what is a slider fork?  Stop laughing now...lol  I am very new to this.  Thanks
