Nice.

Are those the decal images I sent you from the Files section? If so - how did you convert them to actual decals in the end?

Value? Hmm. Never as much as its constituent parts sadly. I reckon you'd get £350-ish on Ebay, at least going by how much similar bikes have sold for in the past.

That's not my opinion of its value but just what they go for. If I were in your boots I'd always want more than that!!

I saw a nice 856 on Ebay the other day with Magura hydraulic brakes and Girvin forks in pretty original conditon only go for £82 - it didn't even meet its reserve. Yet an Animal of similar frame design to yours is currently at £300 - go figure!

yep,my brother in law works for a printing firm and they made them up as a freebee :)

They also made some silver 'Pro-flex' ones as well that look better but forgot to do the 'world cup design' and 'P' for the headstock :(

I was thinking that it may be worth about £100 - £150 but was very unsure due to the fact that you don't see these very offen.

Flee bay here we go.................................

Hi

I'm the guy that actually bought the 856 on Ebay the other day. The auction was stopped early at £82. I actually negotiated a deal of £230. The bike is in excellent condition for the year with usual scratches. Rear brakes require bleeding and the rear elastomer is shot (will replace front & rear). For the money I think it was about right. Few weeks back someone was selling a 656 on eBay that required elastomers and I think a bit of tidying. That went for £175.

I really wanted a Pro Flex since the mid 90s as a replacement for my Cannondale SM700 (1988). Now I have an 18 year old Cannondale with a 10 year old Pro Flex. Life is sweet.

The reserve on my 856 was £250, I managed to knock £20 off. The problem is that not many poeple realise what exactly a Pro Flex is, and therefore disregard it. Not many poeple know that a 856 was about £1700 ish in 1996.

Some Raleigh thing I bought from my brother in law for £5!

That's great - good to see the bikes appearing in this forum! I did wonder what had happened as usually they do go for much higher than £82!
