over extended ODS?
« on: April 07, 2006, 07:33:01 am »
I have a vector II with stock Mcu's and ODS.  When I lift the fork off the ground the shock extends and creates approx. 1/2 inch of space between the MCU's and the Pre-load adjuster.  Is my ods done for?  I was hoping to upgrade it to a coil because the elastomers are solid.
Help!

If the elastomers are solid won't they have shrunk and therefore caused this problem? You'll only notice it when you lift off the ground as the ODS will then extend to full length.

remove the MCU's.  they have corroded due to UV light radiation.  I sell springs on my website that replace the yellow elastomers and collars completely.

I've bought some of Callum's springs and they do the job nicely.
