proflex k2 4000 - problems with carbon swingram -
« on: February 24, 2006, 07:08:17 am »
Hi ,
My name is Bujor Vasile Lucian , I’m from Romania – that lies in Eastern Europe . I just bought a proflex k2 4000  from a collector and I discovered some problems . As you can see in the photo ( http://www.bmco.ro/proflex.html ) the right arm of the swingram is detached from the aluminum part . My question is what glue do I need to stick back togheter the aluminum part to the carbon fiber swingram ?

Respectfuly ,
Bujor Vasile Lucian
E-mail me at service@bmco.ro

PS. I am asking you people for a salvation but in the same time I send mail to glue companies and stores to help me out . I love this bike . I gave away a Scott Fx30 Lite Flite full Xtr equiped to own this bike , I'm lovin'it ;) - I wait it for 2 years but is nowere to be found ...until now -

I've never seen a swingarm come unglued on that end before. But several people have had the rear end come apart over the years. Do a search for epoxy repairs on this site and you should find some pretty expert advice based on what others have done. Good luck! I'm sure you'll be repaired and riding fast in no time!

Yep mine's done that one :(,along with doing the right rear twice and the left rear once,
easy fix [smiley=nod.gif],
remove s/arm and pull out dropout (this can take a lot
of patience though)
clean up old loose epoxy resin and degrease,
rebond in with a good quality epoxy resin such as
Devcon.

M8 I can get you some glue from work that will do it but I'm not sure about how to get it over to you, any ideas?
