Mudride (who can get the dirtiest)

Just had a week off work and hardly got a chance to ride as I spent most the time tearing down our old back garden fence and erecting a new one.
Anyway most of the week was interupted by good old rain  
Well today (Sunday) most things were sorted and cleared away so even though it was raining I just had to get out,not always been a fan of the wet stuff or the resulting conditions but once into it I usually enjoy it,looking at the attached pic's it got me thinking,who can get there bikes the filthiest on a ride out (no just throwing mud at it)
Now mines not too bad today as the trail I'm using has a hard lime base below the top soil so skinnyish tyres are the order of the day,shame I didn't get a pic from earlier in the year riding in mud near axle deep and you could stop and you wouldn't need to put your feet down as you stayed upright in the mud.
Anyway in the end I had a blast today so thought lets see who can enjoy the mud and lets see the results.

  Ok, the cleanest part is that disk brake! As much as I like my rear v-brake, these picks put up a compelling argument for the disks.

 Oh, how I hate cleaning a muddy bike. Have fun.

with my 857 , I'd get the mud packed between the rear caliper and the wheel...I'd pick it out, walk the bike...mush the bike forward....never did any real downhills in the mud..oh I take that back...wiggy!

it was always okay if it was raining, but after a steady rain, then things begin tp dry out, the clay soil would be inpossible to ride in

I always felt the major weakness for my 2000 Evo was the tire clearance on the aluminun swing arm.  I resorted to running 1.7s  during the rainy season which helped somewhat but was terrible on off camber slopes.

I was riding one of our DH courses called St. Louis.  It was the site  of a World Cup DH.  It was several days after a rainy day.  The course looked dry except the dirt was very tacky.  I was the last one in the group and everyone was really flying.  On the way down I could hear the mud clogging the swingarm.  The hill is really steep so the speed seemed to blast the dirt through the swingarm.  In the middle of the steepest section my rear wheel totally locked up.  Managed to stop after hilled leveled a bit.  Had to walked out because the tire kept clogging every ten feet or so.  My unhappy buddies were wondering what was taking so long.  They cheered up after I told them my riding was done and I volunteered to drive the shuttle truck so they all could ride on every run.

I maded sure my new bikes has plenty of tire clearance.
