Here you go... It's the new K2 Apache. This is the first I've heard of it. Looks like they changed the shock mount to the top tube (as opposed to the Lithium). Still a basic single pivot, but more like the Attack than the faux 4-bar linkage of the Lithium. I wonder what "niche" it's supposed tto fill???

(Santa Cruz Blur LT)  It is a shame becauyse the pull shock idea on the razorback is genius.

Except that Apache looks like a single pivot, not a virtual pivot like the Blur. I still covet the Blur, but my LBS buddy told me they squeak like crazy without constant maintenance. Not sure if that would bother me or not (I "maintain" almost as much as I ride...)

Wonder if it comes in four colors of the Apache red/black/yellow/white.

I think that looks like a Manitou Radium on the rear of the red one. That's their low-end rear shock - it's got a "stable platform" but it's not adjustable. (I can't tell if the frame says Apache 3.0 or 5.0).

The blue 6.0 looks like it's got a Fox on it.

The new Cane Creek Double Barrell sure looks promising...

When I looked at that pic of the K2 Apache, something struck me. I knew I had seen that brace by  the seatpost before....ahh.....Iron Horse has been using that for years and didn't K2 just license their bike brand to Iron Horse?

Here's a pic of one of the new Iron Horse all-mountain bikes, I know the swing arm is different, but check out the front triangle:

I could be wrong, but this thing is called the Iron Horse Warrior, I don't know, but  could it be an Apache Warrior? anyway, looks like bikes that say K2 on 'em might be getting better.

NB:  Journalist review bikes never have pedals on them because journo's bring their own pedals...  this is why many bikes weights are quoted without pedals in magazines.  not a lot of people know that!

thanks Callum, looked liked the pedals have never been mounted.  still think they should have all four Apache colors but I don't design bikes. That would add something to the bike, IMHO [smiley=laughing.gif]
