Is anyone out there using Kenda Nevegal 2.1 tires?  I have been putting them through the paces and they seem to be the most point and shoot front tires that I have ever used in terms of inspiring confidence.  I converted them to Stan's Notubes, with ease.  They are a tad slower on pavement compared to my IRC Mythos w. Stan's, but on the trail they simply obey.  I typically ignore MBA suggestions, but this time they might be on to something.  Other experiences?

I know what you mean,  I live in Northern California, and none of my LBSs seem to carry them; I found mine in Southen Cal.  I had always considered Kendas the type of heavy junk that you would get on a low end bike.  These, however, are the real deal.   I guess that their retail distribution network is still thin at this time.  I hope that they keep making them cause they are some awesome grippers.

Kenda's are not "heavy junk." In fact, they've always been light. As for the junk part, I can't say. In the past they were made of really soft rubber compounds that wore out extremely fast, but I think they've officially moved into the "quality" market over the last 2-3 years. A lot of great magazine reviews. Hard to overcome that initial reputation though.

My older supposely hard compound Kenda did wear out fast.  The new sticky compound sticks way better in the wet and yes they wear out too fast.

My current trail tire combo is the sticky Kenda in the front and medium compound Maxxis in the rear.  The DH combo is sticky Maxxis in the front and sticky Kenda in the rear.

Kenda has come a long way as the MTBR tire poll has both the Kenda and Maxxis at the top.

Kenda Nevegal Lite...1st place in the tire shootout

cant find em?  call 866 536 3287

according to the review:

weight 1 pound 5 ounces

actual size 2.0 inches

rated 5 stars in pedaling efficency, climbing bite, braking, cornering, and loose dirt

..it said nothing about mud....

2nd place...Specialized roll x pro.....
