Risse Genesis Damper
« on: April 21, 2003, 10:58:44 pm »
I got one of these for my 955 a few years ago and had to make a bracket to get the shock to fit on the bike.

I just noticed on the risse site that there is some sort of attachment that you can get for the shock to make it fir properly. Does anyone know anything about these? I emailed risse but got no answer.

if you are in europe - then email me for the UK distributor, Dave at CVI really knows his stuff with risse and we've sent a load of proflex folks his way.

I'm in Australia and unfortunately getting bits for the bike is proving near impossible.

I have a risse terminator and it has what is called a "freedom plate" adaptor'It has a groove to match a raised middle portion on the shock which then just bolts to the strut like the original girvin elastomer damper but without the cone,,so it would be very similar to the x55 mount...what parts are you after the nz distributor is quite good.and i dont mind getting you some parts .I did this for a guy in perth......post here ..your query may also help others..

I'll try and get some pictures, but I have the shock and I need the adapter that goes into the strut at the rear. I think it may be the freedom plate. Do you have any idea of the price for these?

Where the shock sits under the seat post seems fine.

I originally bought the shock because the bike shop was trying to get rid of them, turned out to be a very good shock for the price.

Risse quoted me $20 for the freedom plate adaptor, but I have yet to see a picture of it to verify that it is what I think it is.

Kiwi, can you post a pic of it?

I'm not sure if it is a part number or what but my Genesis shock has the number

800 669-4RRT

I bought it probably around 1999 from memory. When I get a chance I will take a picture.

honestly, I have no idea of weight, I am pulling it of my bike this afternoon anyway so I will weigh it then for you.

I increased the pressure in the shock to 150psi yesterday from 120, has made a huge difference.
