Ohhhhh, crap. Yup, you need a new steerer tube. I didn't even notice that it was cut, but now that you mention it it's obvious.

Unless you could find JUST the ULM from a carbon fork (they're even shorter than what you have now). that would help to lower your stacked height (ie. "critical dimension").

Simon has steerer tubes for sale and some ULM's. Get a hold of him and get some measurements and compare to what you have. Hopefully this will alll work out. These parts MIGHT also be available from K2, but you can definetly get them cheaper when used.

It's entirely up to you if you want to go through all this or just use somethign else, but you already know that.

For what it's worth, when I contacted K2 they were prompt in replying to me when I was e-mailing with them about 3 weeks ago.
