fork slop

Hey guys. I recently replaced my old Mega Air fork (which I loved) due to a leak. I bought a brand new '05 Marzocchi MX Comp air. I'll admit that I don't have a lot of experience dialing in forks, but for some reason this fork feels sloppy. By that I mean it feels almost like a loose headset (which is not loose). The only adjustment I've made is to increase the rebound damping so it's not like a pogo stick. The fork is brand new so I know nothing is worn out. You guys got any ideas regarding the cause / solution to the "slop"? Thanks for any help.

Sounds like excessive play in the slider bushes, there can be a little play present in new forks to help alleviate stiction but not enough to notice, take them back and get them checked under warranty.
Simon.
