Crosslink Tech Questions

Flexmeisters,

Coupla nagging issues on my EXP versions of the lovely linkage fork:
1. If the spring is not rotated "just so" it rubs hard against the lower headset bearing. This only happens when the shock is unloaded (climbing or airborne). It just doesn't seem right. And what a squeal! Is there a way to avoid this?
2. When I get onto the disk brake up front the forks flex more than I would expect. Haven't yet determined how much of the movement is "normal compression" due to a aoft spring and how much is bending legs, bearing slop, etc. Is this a common experience? (It's only got a few hundred miles on it.)

try grinding off a bit of the section of outer portion of the head set or that section of the spring thats rubbing?

you can file down a short section on a spring and not affect it too terribly much -
that's probably what i'd do if a foam spacer or such won't work.

IMHO
Point 1
It sounds to me like you havn't got any pre-load on the spring, That's the only way mine would rotate or slop about such that it could rub.
Also it could be that the spring outside diameter (and internal diameter) is too large.
Is it an original Noleen spring or similar?
What shock is it on?
I believe the Inside and outside diameters are approx 33mm / 47mm.
Or maybe the dampers not damping properly and so the rebound is too great?

Sorry, No idea on Point 2, I'm not "Disc enabled". <GRIN>
