finally, a good Oz rear fender

Hi,
well, you all know that I am partial to fenders. well, I originally tried a Woodman protector rear fender, but could not get it to fit right. so, I went and bought a mud machine rear fender that I modified to make longer. It worked well, but was a bit heavy. then, the mounting bracket broke (steel, but must have been lousy steel). so, I removed it.

well, since its winter, I was playing around with the original Woodman fender I had bought, and guess what? I got it to fit. It fact it fits perfectly. a bit tight with an IRC trail bear 2.25, but enought mud clearance. this fender even goes down between the "yoke" of the swingarm giving protection to the lower shock mount. It mounts/de-mounts quickly and easily. works well. and, ITS LIGHT!

now, I just have to get it colored right to fit the Blue Crush theme.

I think mine is pretty good - it's a few years old but so is my bike.

and no mud clearance problems

yes, I remember your rear fender. It is very good. Its just that I couldn't find a good one for my bike.

In fact, once I got this thing mounted, I thought of you, thinking that it looked a bit similar to yours.

Didn't mean to take anything away from you. In fact, in one sense, yours is better. you made it yourself.

I just happened to notice that icyclesusa.com has the Headlands backscratcher for sale (they're getting hard to find these days). Of course, OP's fender only works for disc brakes, but it is an ingeniously simple idea...
